A reduced automobile insurance premium is sometimes
granted to students with high scholastic achievement because some studies have
indicated a relationship between good grades and safe driving. Car insurance
companies in most states extend good student discounts to drivers who are under
the age of 25 and are enrolled in high school or college. The amount of
the good student discount varies by car insurance provider, but it typically
ranges from 10 to 15% off the regular premium - a significant savings for any
student! If the student's grade point average drops or the student switches to
part-time status, they may no longer be eligible to receive a discount and will
need to pay the full premium until their academic standing or status changes
again.
